  1. Gents, well engineered and produced piece work, in particular ” smoke on the water”. The bass and the drums mic up and “lacing” are done with the skill that needs serious commending. You can always tell the Chris Squire from Yes, bass ‘pulse’ from a mile off. It just pumps, seriously good.

By the way, learned Gents, what studio did this work get put down on. It seems to me, the mixing was done on a nieve desk, the stuff that EMI records and Abbey Road, were renowned for. Let me guess 24 tracks with an extra 16 patched in , as only a Nieve desk can and shall do?

Seriously good stuff. If I was asked to mix the over dubs on the lead guitar/s tracks by the legends, I would not be able to do it. I would just freeze at the desk, as ” legends” like Brain May, Dave Gilmore, Tony Iommi, and Prince Ritchie Blackmore, ar NOT in the same universe of a mortal like me. It would seriously do my head in. I would have nervous break down.

To the Engineer that did it, my hat goes off to you, YOU ARE NOT A MORTAL. LET ME GUESS, MESSRS. MAY, GILMORE, IOMMI, BLACKMORE, ONLY TOOK TWO TAKES TO DO IT. WITHOUT ANY ‘ HEEL CLICKING’ …and then perhaps; these GODS gave you some tips, as to a possible mix.

Nice to have these GODS, come down and give some tips in the booth. …..
WHAT A CONTINGENT OF GODS .

HATS OFF TO YOU GENTS. I AM IN AWE, OF SUCH A MASTERPIECE.

P.S. GILLAN, MADE ME LAUGH WHEN HE SAID ” IVE SEEN THIS SONG GO BAD BEFORE”

Please advise, serious sound engineer from the big ditch, down serious south.

    NSW Australia Sydney……
