The 1996 DEP Sessions – What The Critics Said

…it allows Iommi to show his diversity, and beautifully showcases that tremendous Hughes passion and power. This is a classy, mature album, with the dynamic ‘From Another World’, the soulful ‘Don’t Drag The River’ and the slippery ‘I’m Not The Same Man’ among the brilliant highlights.

Classic Rock – December 2004

It’s a ballsy set of melodic metal that actually manages the seemingly impossible task of melding Iommi’s grinding metal with Hughes’ more funked-up 70s rock. 8/10

Metal Hammer – December 2004

Few people in rock history can boast a finer voice than Hughes, while Iommi’s familiarly dense, cold-as-ice riffs displayed on songs like “Gone” and “Time Is The Healer” do not disappoint.

Kerrang – 25th September 2004

…as a source of stealable riffs it’s a must.

Guitar & Bass – December 2004

Hughes has an excellent rock voice and manages to be loud or harmonious as required and Iommi of course is a guitarist who blazed a path that others followed, so it’s not surprising that this is a quality package. Well worth a listen.

Congleton Chronicle – 8th October 2004

…this album just screams “quality” at you from the moment you press the play button….Here’s a suggestion for all those so-called ‘guitar-based’ bands that are constantly churning out three chord dross – listen to this album and weep; this is how it should be done. *****

Burton Mail – 16th October 2004

Classic stuff.

Daily Star Sunday – 26th September 2004

I friggin’ love this thing – all of it, the heavy stuff, the ballads, the variety, and mostly because of the sold songs, Hughes’ multi-hued vocals, and the warm, perfect production. Not one duff track. 9 (out of 10).
