Jon Lord

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Jon’s passing . Jon was not only a magnificent keyboard player and musician but a wonderful human being and a true gentleman. I’m honoured to have had the opportunity to play together with him. We’ve lost a true legend but his music will live on in all of our hearts. My deepest thoughts go out to his family. R.I.P Jon, my friend. Tony Iommi

Ian Gillan & Tony Iommi Release Album!

Deep Purple´s Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) took everybody by surprise in 2011 by releasing a charity single: “Out Of My Mind”, renewing the collaboration that led the pair recording an album in 1984 “Born Again” under the moniker Black Sabbath. For the occasion, the two rock legends called a few friends, asking for some “help”. None other than Jason Newsted, Jon Lord and Nicko McBrain completed the supergroup. The single was a joyful and inspired moment. The spark to bring Iommi and Gillan in a studio, together again was to finance the rebuilding of a music school in Armenia they had visited together on various occasions in past years. Far from being a spectacular charity project, WhoCares was a nice gesture, done with class, from two musicians with...

BLACK Sabbath star Tony Iommi has welcomed an award for a Midland hospital that helped him fight cancer. The Birmingham-born guitarist, who revealed he had lymphoma earlier this year, spoke out during a visit to the Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, where he was treated. The 63-year-old said: “The diagnosis was a huge shock to me but the care and attention I have received at the hospital has been absolutely second-to-none. “I’ve been made to feel comfortable, at home and at ease – with every worry or fear allayed and nurses giving me 24 hour access to them. “I could contact them if I had any immediate concerns at any time and at any stage of the chemotherapy and radiotherapy.” Iommi was at an event at the hospital to commemorate the achievement of a Macmillan...

Message From Tony!

I was extremely nervous beforehand about playing a long set, not knowing whether I’d be able to last. It turned out to be no problem whatsoever because Ozzy, Geezer and Tommy were nailing everything, no chance to feel tired! I’m really pleased with how it turned out, fantastic crowd and I want to say thank you to all of them for giving me such an amazing reception. On our way again at last! Finally, a special thanks to Tommy, we invited him to play and he was brilliant. Best wishes, Tony
